In 1979, I graduated from high school at the America Cooperative School (A.C.S.) in Monrovia, Liberia, West Africa. In 1980, I got accepted to the Indiana Institute of Technology (IIT) in Fort Wayne, Indiana, to study Chemical Engineering. I attended (I.I.T.) for two years, from 1980 to 1982.
I transferred to California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) and studied Chemical Engineering from 1982 to 1984. In 1984, during my senior year at (C.S.U.L.B.), I took a trip to the Philippines, where I resided for five years until marrying Thelma Cortez in 1985 and we have two sons and one daughter. Our first son is named Kawi Vincent Neal, our second son is named Macky Franklin Neal, and our daughter is named Harriet Neal. Thelma and I have been married 39 years, from 1985 to 2024, and we are still married.
In California, I worked as a sales clerk at a number of 7-11 convenience stores. I was eventually recruited as a security guard for different agencies in California. I left my work as a security officer to care for my aged mother until her death from heart failure on November 2, 2021. She was buried on December 7, 2021.
